ROUND ROBIN PHOTO CHALLENGE: MACRO

It wasn't until Steven explained the intricacies of 'macro' that I understood the process and realized that not only did my camera have the capabilities but I had been utilizing it all along!  I found these images in a file I shot over the Memorial Day weekend at the Colorado Springs Pioneer Days Celebration in Old Colorado Springs earlier this year.  The market place was filled with booths that appealed to all of the senses.  The sights, the sounds, the scents and the rustic textures recreated the atmosphere of the old west of days gone by.

The honey bee depends upon the sunflower for nourishment.  The flower relies on the bee for pollination.  Its fascinating, isn't it, how intertwined life of all shape and size really is. While I may understand the complexities of life more now than I did as a child playing in the field behind our house, it still captivates and amazes me. It was never parlor tricks performed with the wave of a wand or an 'abra cadabra' chanted amidst a poof of smoke that kept me spell bound.  It was the wonders of nature, that was real magic to the 6 year old child that was once and still is 'me'.

CATCH!

Just messing around here.  The mirror of my camera is so dusty that after a while I gave up on trying to remove the spots from the background.  I'll have to reshot this after I get the camera dusted.
