Arizona Memorial, 2003

This picture needs no introduction.

Looking up at the flag flying over the remains of the battleship Arizona.

Gabriel and his grandfather Ben who is retired Navy, and now volunteers as a guide on the Battleship Missouri.

I have to be honest with you, I love America, but I'm neither a patriot or a pacifist, just something in between. Superbly framed photos,  Old Glory in each of them waving her majestic colors. Do you have others?

Congrats on yet another journal Dorn.......I don't know how you do it.....you are the Queen of blogging for sure!!! I will be a regular visitor here.....you know what  a photo nut I am........these photos are wonderful........I like the one with Gabriel and Grandfather Ben.....a story of two generations.....lovely.

I am both a patriot and a pacifist. Loving your country and hating war are not diametrically opposed.  My favorite sensei, Walter Oka, stood in his front yard as a child and watched Pearl Harbor bombed. His family was sent to an internment camp, but like many Japanese Americans he and all seven of his brothers served...This must be a very moving memorial...
