RIDING INTO THE SUNSET

Kit Carson statue, Main Gate, Fort Carson, Colorado.

I wanted to take a color picture of this statue at sunset, but I haven't got a UV lens for my camera yet and I just couldn't get the effect I was looking for so I tried a shot in the shadows.  I'll try again later with a filter.

You are a much more fantastic photographer than I am and I am sure you already know this trick, but I am humbly offering the suggestion anyway.  Have you tried placing a pair of polarized sunglasses over your lens?  I have gotten some pretty good shots with that technique, experimenting with the same shot with and without.

I like the black and white/sepia tones of this!!!  it lends an air of authenticity to the pic--as if he were actually there

Now THAT is an awesome pic.  Has an eerie look to it like my pond photo!!!!  This entry has several entries of the "fog."
