RIDING INTO THE SUNSET (re-worked)

This is another reworked picture.  I originally posted it in black and white because the color image was too washed out.  This time I increased the color balance to emphasize the reds and yellows that I had hoped to catch when I took the picture and this was the result.  This statue is of Kit Carson and stands outside the main gate at Fort Carson, Colorado.

(Oops, I lied.  This is the picture I posted, taken on the same day but definitely not the same shot.)

I have my camera back, but I also have a house full of children which makes concentration on photo opportunities (other than the children themselves) difficult.  He doesn't know it yet, but I'm ditching my husband on Sunday for a 'Me' day, which I believe I have earned.

Oh my gosh, that is absolutely stunning!!!!  Love the Black and white shot too!
My hubby is on his way to Colorado as I type this.  Just called and said he is outside of St. Louis.  He is going to get the rest of our stuff out of storage.  He will be coming back again in a couple of weeks.  Hope I can make that trip with him, as we should be through with our homeschooling by then!!!  But we will see........

love the technique you used!  super effect!  you are using PSP right?  I thought i remember you writing that before...I like how the more you use something, the more things you learn...still working on photoshop here, and once I'm better at it, will try more things with the PSP.

This is so cool and reminisent of that famous print or painting of a cowboy on a horse in the sunset with a coyote or dog in the picture (The name of which I can't recall but my daughter's friend did a painting of it for school a few year's back).  I absolutely love it.  Your talent is amazing.  Great idea to take a 'me' day...but isn't Sunday Father's Day?  You might do both!  Nice breakfast and photo walk for you and then go to lunch and and something with an adrenlaine rush for Father's da?  Just a thought, definitely just thinking out loud....:)
