BUTTERFLY KISSES

Yesterday I went to the wedding of my friends' daughter.  As the happy couple left the reception, dozens of butterflies were release to escort the new couple.  This little guy landed on a rock in a nearby pond where it happily enjoyed the coolness of the water.

This butterfly was in no hurry to fly away and stayed on the groom's sleeve until he got to the car.  The bride decided to take the butterfly with them as they enbarked on their new life together.

Wonderful shots!  The one of the butterfly on the groom with his brides hand showing is just perfectly beautiful!  An award winner in my humble opinion!  Lisa

The monarch butterfly on the rocks has great color/composition.  The one with the hand is unique.   mark

Apparently, butterflies are the new "rice".  When I got married 8 years ago, having your guest blow bubbles was the thing to do...I wonder what will be next!  hehe!

Beautiful pictures!

Nice shots of the Monarchs.  I have heard of butterflies being let go on weddings and also white doves.  I guess rice is not to good for little birds stomachs since it tends to expand beyond their capacity to disgest at times.  I sometimes people also throw rose petals instead of rice too.  Kind of neat all these different customs.   I love the shot of with the wedding gown and hand...did you get any of the flock of Monarchs?  That must have been quite a site!  Thanks for sharing.

We used birdseed at somebody's wedding I went to.  Lovely shots of the Monarchs, btw.
