I came across this whitetail doe and 3 fawns at Cattail Marsh today. Unfortunately they were on the other side of the pond, which was just a little too far to get a clear shot with my zoom. I tried enlarging the picture and then sharpening it but the picture became real spotty with the 'digital noise'. The shot was too precious to give up on though so I tried to remove the noise and increase the saturation. The end result was kind of washed out but there was a certain water-color appeal that I actually liked.

This is such a beautiful photo. I love the soft focus effect you used on it too.
It came out GREAT!

Marvelous!!!

These fawns are adorable..kind of remind me of my bunnies...no I don't think the bunnies are wild but they will be soon...I would think...someone must have let them go. Back to the deer Triplets...can you imagine the work of just keeping them alive? Great photo shot. Photos are always more than what meets the eye to me...sure sharpness helps but it's not always the main thing...evidenced by this neat shot.
I was hankering for a large mm telephoto when I was visiting your fair state.
3 fawns, WOW, looks like their was a light wind blowing as there is a slight chop on the water. Good save with the softness, goes with the subject.
Tess
I agree with you: The watercolor effect is lovely. Too many people feel that if the focus isn't absolutely sharp, then it's not worth keeping.
Awww...how cute are they?!?!

Hi again! I am so completely thrilled to find this! You are amazing. I have been enjoying your "dustbunny" entries...but I had no idea... I LOVE it. C. http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
I have never seen a doe with three fawns, that is awesome!!!!
That is a very good shot. I don't think I have ever seen a photo of three fawns belonging to one mother. Helen
I thought it was a painting - I really love the effect you gave this. AWESOME JOB!

A beautiful shot. I am not a photographer but I love the wild life. Congrats on being one of the guest editor picks. Paula
Someone's being featured again. Congrats, you deserve it.

It has a definite painterly effect. Congratulations on the award I read about here. mark
Nice effect. I'll have to remember to try it. I have a few nice pictures that could have used just a little better telephoto lens than I have <g>

Awwwwww! Awesome! Lisa
Ahh.... I like the final effect on this photo... you're right, it's got a painting feel about it. Very nice.
Hello;
I've been doing the photo thing for 28 years. I did moto cross coverage for a local newspaper as well as weddings etc. First I have to tell you that you're doing excellent. What are you using for cameras ? I'm shooting with my new digital however no one will talk me out of my 35 mm's.
Thanks for showing us your work and have a sparkling day !!!!!
