This is the view from the top of the trail by the Nature center. The pond below is where I took many of my goose and frog pictures as well as my cattail and other plants. The baby woodpecker lives there in the trees. I was in the woods to the right of the pond when I photographed the deer yesterday. The little family of barn swallows live in a little pavillion to my left on the trail. Cattail Marsh adjoins the nature center grounds, the trees on the far side of the pond are part of the Marsh. Just past that, where the powerlines are just barely visable is Fountain Creek and Interstate 25. Beyond that, and out of view, is Fort Carson. In the distance lies Cheyenne Mountain and Pikes Peak. I live only a couple of miles from all of this. Welcome to my world!

Glorious area to live. A small pond with reflections is one of my favorite scenes. When it gets cooler I will get to some areas where I live that are wonderful within a not to far driving distance. mark
