AFTER THE RAIN

This is my silly but favorite lawn sprinkler.  In the past few years we suffered from drought conditions and therefore did not get to use him very often, but this year holds better promise.  Of course with all the rain we've been getting lately, again we haven't had much need for a sprinkler.

Flowers and other plants don't fare well in my yard.  These flowers grace my border but only because they are hanging over the fence from the neighbor's yard.

The one plant that does thrive in my yard is the Taraxacum officinale (Family Asteraceae) or the dandilion.  I am partial to them because of their simple beauty and easy maintenance, but mostly because they were the highlight of numerous bouquets I have received over the years from my children.

I have always liked dandilions, think they are beautiful.

I think that yellow flower is a forsythia.  I love the little tortoise sprinkler!  :-)
