AFTER THE STORM

The plants that grow in Colorado have to be hearty to withstand the bitter cold winters and the arid summers.  Spring is never typical.  It is not uncommon to see snow on the mountains in July.

The daffodils bowed their heads with the weight of the snow, but when I walked back past them 2 hours later the snow had completely melted and the blossoms were waving happily in the warmth of the afternoon sun.

Curiosity got the better of this little chipmunk who seemed facinated by the sound of my camera.

I like the color and the perspective with the daffodils in the snow! Nice impact, made me cold!
